DALE CHIHULY GLASS HOUSE
I enjoy documenting my travels through journals and sketches. I had never heard of Dale Chihuly before going to his museum in Seattle, Washington. While I knew he specialized in glass sculptures, I had no idea his work would transcend the medium itself. He uses light and color to make the glass even more appealing to the viewer. I was so inspired after walking through the exhibition that I stopped to sketch at the Glass House. I developed my quick sketches into a painting, and later a series of three watercolor pieces.
THE WHITE CLIFFS OF DOVER
I felt like my most inspired and creative self on the White Cliffs of Dover. During my first trip in early October, the weather was absolutely perfect. After falling in love with cliffs, I decided to make a second trip in mid-December when it was cloudy, cold and rainy. But I managed to enjoy my day nonetheless. I used the white cliff rocks in sketches to truly encapsulate my time there.
